After a break up, if you’re still in love with your ex, chances are that everyone will offer some advice on a way to get your ex girlfriend back. Some people will suggest that you send her flowers or love letters, others will tell you to call her up and beg her for a second chance. The truth is that there’s a very good chance that you can get her back if you follow a certain approach. Surprisingly, in many cases the best way to win her back is actually to ignore her.

This doesn’t mean that the best way to get your ex girlfriend back is to cut off all contact with her. It does mean that you shouldn’t be the one initiating the contact. Women expect that you’ll ask for another chance, they anticipate the many calls and emails pleading with them, and they know that you’ll pester them until they give in. If you do the exact opposite of that, it creates a sense of confusion in your ex. She’ll start to think that she may have actually lost you for good. You want her to think that way.

Initially after a split many women will say they need time to think. Your gut instinct is to panic and then do everything in your power to stay in contact with her. If you do this, you’re sending a silent message to your ex that you don’t respect her needs. If she says she’ll call you in a couple of weeks, don’t call her for those couple of weeks. If she does call, talk to her briefly but don’t suggest that you two talk things out or meet to discuss the future of your relationship. You need to leave all of that in her hands. Her curiosity will get the best of her and she will call.

The things you do after your breakup will either set the stage for a reunion with your girlfriend or will ensure she’s gone for good.
